Our
world is a potpourri of sounds, smells, sights and things to touch.
We are constantly receiving information from the world through our
senses. If we piece this information together inaccurately sensory
integration problems begin. The initial effects may impact our
movement but eventually the entire central nervous system can be
affected. Many atypical behaviors observed in children (developmental
lags, behavioral, emotional, and learning problems)
can be
better understood when the effects of a disorganized central nervous
system are taken into consideration. Without an efficient nervous
system, we are unable to interact comfortably with the world around
us.
NSR
uses key elements of four well-established sensory stimulation
therapies (photic, acoustic, tactile and vestibular stimulation )
combined into one approach. The goal of this training is to
reintegrate sensory information and improve the individuals ability to
interact with the world around them.
